Friday February 12 (Health)

Starter #1 - "I am a teenage/underage alcoholic. If I drink I could die because I can't stop when I start...My family is full of alcoholics. That increases my chance of dying. Anyone and everyone in my family that drinks has died of drinking alcohol..." --High School Student

Today, students finished watching the video "Teen Files: The Truth About Drinking". Students were given an assignment: "Alcohol has affected me in the following ways...". Students need to write about how alcohol has affected his/her life, either positively or negatively. If students don't have a story to write about, then they can write what their thoughts are about alcohol.

Students received a new pink "Starters" worksheet today.

Take Away: Introduction to Alcohol.

Homework -
1.) Study for your Basketball Test on Tuesday February 16th.
2.) Alcohol paper - due Wednesday February 17th.
3.) Purchase a heart rate monitor strap ($5.00) in the main office if you haven't already.
