Monday March 1 (Health)

Starter #5 - "One reason I don't drink is that I want to know when I am having a good time."

Today students learned about the different Utah Drunk Driving Offenses, as well as some of the different drunk driving laws that happen in other countries. Students were given an assignment to complete the "It's Your Choice" dice game in class today. This assignment helped illustrate that people who take risks and don't have any real problems the first time might try it again because they feel immune to the danger. Peer pressure can also lend a hand in some of the decisions that a person makes. The problem is, misfortune could be just "one roll" away. This can easily be compared to drinking alcohol and the problems and consequences that can happen due to a bad choice made by even just one person.

Students turned in their Starters - they were due today.

Take Away: All choices that we make have consequences that come with them, and consequences don't change. If you make a choice, it could be your last.
*Continuous Learning* - Learn the lifelong effects of Alcohol.

Homework - Purchase a heart rate monitor strap ($5.00) in the main office if you haven't already.
