Starter #5 - "The poorest man would not part with health for money, but the richest would gladly part with all their money for health." --C. C. Colton
Today's agenda:
1. Starter - due today!
2. Health Notes
3. Wellness Continuum
Today we took notes on the definitions of Physical, Mental, and Social Health. We also learned about the "Wellness Continuum". Millions of people become sick, disabled, or die each year because of the way they live. Many times we think, "That won't happen to me." Many deaths could be prevented if people practice a few simple health habits. Habits you are establishing now will carry over throughout your life. Everyone should try to develop a high degree of responsibility, discipline, and positive direction in life. We should all accept responsibility for maintaining our own health.
Remember to keep working on your goals! :)
HEALTH NOTES - Definitions:
Physical Health - The care of your body and your body's ability to meet the demands of daily living.
Mental Health - Focus is on (you as a person) and your feelings about yourself. Ability to like yourself, express emotions in acceptable ways, and face problems and stresses of day-to-day living.
Social Health - We are social beings. We need other people; this includes the way you get along with other people, making friends and keeping them, working and playing in a cooperative way, as well as seeking and lending support.
Take Away: Learn how to find balance in all aspects of health.
*Continuous Learning*
Homework - None.
